Photography has always been a passion for Marc van der Aa. As a teenager, he spent hours taking pictures at concerts and joint different bands on European tours. When he was 18, Marc bought his first SLR camera and started travelling the world, documenting all interesting things he came across.
After having finished his studies of journalism in Holland, Marc left for Argentina to study photography. In Buenos Aires, he worked for the production of Armin Only Mirage and also ended up taking pictures during the event. These pictures are being used until today, and this is how Marc ended up doing EDM Photography.
Since then, Marc has covered a large variety of events, such as Tomorrowland, I am Hardwell (Holland, Mexico), Mysteryland (Holland, Chile), Electronic Family, A day at the park, UMF Miami, Road to Ultra Colombia, A State Of Trance (Mexico, Argentina, USA), Armin Only Mirage, EDC (Mexico, Orlando), Tomorrowworld, Extrema Outdoor, Amsterdam Dance Event, Armin Only Intense, Miami Music Conference, EMPO Awards, Armada Fest, Future Sound Of Egypt (Argentina, Mexico), Amsterdam Music Festival and many more.
His pictures have been used by some of the most important artists in the EDM industry, like Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, Axwell, Showtek, Dash Berlin, Alesso, W&W, Quintino, Paul van Dyk, Aly & Fila and Martin Garrix.
Next to EDM photography, Marc is busy with a lot of other things as well. He joined Rihanna on her 777 tour, won the competition for best image of the famous Dakar Rally 2014, documented most of Latin America on his travels and worked for companies such as Nike, Lonely Planet, BMW and Herbalife. His work has been published in a large variety of newspapers, magazines and books around the world and exhibited at different expositions.
